“Policies to Accelerate the Development of Industrial Design Industry in Chongqing”

The industrial design originates from the manufacturing industry and serves the manufacturing industry. As the starting point of the innovation chain and the source of the value chain, industrial design has become an important indicator of a country or region’s level of industrial innovation. In order to gradually improve the top-level design of the industrial design industry, promote the integration of “design + manufacturing,” and seize the innovation opportunities in the era of intelligence, Chongqing issued the “Policies to Accelerate the Development of Industrial Design Industry in Chongqing” on December 5, 2019.

According to the responsible person of the Chongqing Municipal Economy and Information Technology Commission, this is the first special policy document for industrial design in Chongqing. Before its release, a comprehensive investigation was conducted on the development of the industrial design industry throughout Chongqing. The policies provide convenience and financial support in various aspects, including nurturing and expanding the design industry, stimulating the vitality of the design market, and strengthening support for industrial development, further clarifying development priorities and directions.
