Chongqing Good Design Empowers High-Quality “Spark Program” Promotion Meeting Held in Southeast Chongqing

On the morning of February 23, the promotional meeting for the high-quality “Spark Program” in Southeast Chongqing, powered by Chongqing’s good design, was held in Xiushan. Zhao Gang, a member of the party group of the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission, and Chen Hongbo, a member of the standing committee of the Xiushan County Party Committee and Deputy County Governor, attended. The meeting was chaired by Li Yue, the director of the Production Service Department of the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission.

At the meeting, representatives from the Economic and Information Commissions of Xiushan, Qianjiang, Wulong, Shizhu, Youyang, and Pengshui counties respectively discussed the progress of industrial design work. Representatives from institutions such as the Rural Revitalization Design Research Institute and the Industrial Design and Technology Innovation Service Platform shared their experiences. Director Li Yue detailed the development of the city’s industrial design industry, the key tasks for 2023, and the next work plan.

Zhao Gang emphasized at the meeting that industrial design, as a means of achieving quick results with small investments, is the core link for transforming technology research and development into products. It is of great significance for leading technology and product innovation, promoting supply-side structural reform, and promoting industrial optimization and upgrading. Strengthening cooperation between the city and counties and building a shared industrial design service system is an important measure to bring design resources from the city center to a deeper level, and to boost the comprehensive coordinated development of the city’s industrial design industry. It was pointed out that each district and county should fully integrate policy roles, based on the “2023 Creative Capital Empowerment Theme Year”, grasp the main line of “Creative Capital Full Star, Spark Program Empowerment”, support industrial design talents, design services, and ecological construction, inspire and gather strength, guide enterprises to innovate, transform and upgrade, reduce costs and increase efficiency, and promote the high-quality development of Chongqing’s good design.

Before the meeting, the “Strategic Cooperation Agreement to Support the High-Quality Development of Xiushan County’s Industrial Economy” and the “Cooperation Agreement for the Joint Construction of the City-County Industrial Design Service System” were signed, and the plaque awarding ceremony for the Chongqing (Xiushan) Industrial Design Headquarters Base was held.

The Chongqing Industrial Design Headquarters Base is a key project of the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission’s “14th Five-Year Plan” to construct the city’s industrial design innovation service system and promote the development of the city’s industrial design industry. The project relies on the Chongqing Industrial Design Promotion Center and adopts the “headquarters + district and county sub-center” model to construct the operation center for the distributed coordinated development of the city’s industrial design, with outstanding advantages in resource aggregation, industry driving, regional radiation, and industry influence.

Under the leadership of the Chongqing Economic and Information Commission, our center follows the principles of unified deployment, regional guidance, service sinking, and precise empowerment, and carries out the construction of the county’s industrial design service system to promote city-county coordinated development. A batch of sub-centers in Dazu, Bishan, Dianjiang, and Jiangjin have been successively established. The signing of the “Cooperation Agreement for the Joint Construction of the City-County Industrial Design Service System” with Xiushan County marks the official launch of the Xiushan sub-center. At the same time, Xiushan combines its industrial base to establish the first county-level industrial design base in the city – the Chongqing (Xiushan) Industrial Design Headquarters Base. It will further play the role of the sub-center, continuously optimize the design environment, gather design talents, create a design innovation ecology, enhance the urban service functions and industrial driving capabilities of the Wuling Mountain area, and help the construction of the national industrial design demonstration city.
