Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, the world’s first government-to-government eco-city project, applies industrial design principles like modularity, interface standardization, and closed-loop logic to tackle challenges in saline land restoration, passive house technology, water management, and waste disposal, offering a replicable model for sustainable urban development.
Green design is becoming key to manufacturing transformation. This article explores how green design reduces resource consumption and environmental impact from the source, through modularization, lightweighting, and other strategies, redefining product lifecycles, and highlights practices in Chongqing and globally.
This study on urban renewal of Chongqing Jiulong Peninsula pioneers the “Cool Slow Peninsula” model by leveraging the cold island effect and industrial heritage. Through five major strategies, it constructs the nation’s first ecological art peninsula, providing a design reference for urban renewal in high-temperature cities.
