Ten Schools, Hundred Villages: Artistic Beautification of Rural Areas

Through renovation and transformation, the deserted ancient villages have been revitalized and gone viral as “new internet sensations” with citizens flocking to visit. The old courtyards, adorned with colorful murals infused with ICH elements, have been transformed into breathtaking beauties that attract numerous visitors.

Since July 2020, the first “Ten Schools, Hundred Villages: Artistic Beautification of Rural Areas” for the cultural revitalization of rural areas has been led and carried out by the Publicity Department of the Chongqing Municipal Committee of the CPC and the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission in the city. Ten universities, including Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Chongqing Normal University, and Chongqing Jiaotong University, have paired up with 21 towns and villages to promote the cultural revitalization of rural areas.
