The Chongqing City of Design visual identity (hereinafter referred to as the “Logo”) is a representative symbol for Chongqing’s global international design cooperation and city image promotion. It is a vital element of the city’s design industry development.

chongqing city of design logo

Chongqing is a city of mountains and rivers. Inspired by Chongqing’s urban landform, the logo outlines classic images such as Chongqing’s “mountain city”, “two rivers”(Yangtze and Jialing) and “night scene” through intertwined lines, showing the vigorous and enterprising spirit. The upper part of the graphic is composed of three staggered cubes, which not only shows the Chinese character “mountain” and the skyline of Chongqing, but also symbolizes the development of Chongqing’s design capital led by the three major industries of industrial design, engineering design and fashion design. The lower half of the graphic is composed of two intertwined curves that depict the geographical characteristics of the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. The overall color of the logo is orange, purple, red, green and blue, of which orange, purple and red express the colorful appearance of Chongqing, and the green and blue colors symbolize the Yangtze River and Jialing River, representing the city’s green ecological vitality and highlighting the charm of Chongqing as a magical “8D” city and a UNESCO City of Design.
