“Ecology · Life · Vitality”: Liang Mingyu’s Environmental Protection Installation Art Exhibition Launches in Liuzhou

On July 25, the exhibition of “Ecology · Life · Vitality” – Invitational Exhibition of Installation Works by Famous Artist Professor Liang Mingyu kicked off at the Industrial Guochao Hall of Liuzhou Industrial Museum.

This exhibition is Professor Liang Mingyu’s first collection of installation works in China, which is divided into four sections. Among them, there are about 30 graphic display boards, which systematically introduce Professor Liang Mingyu’s creative achievements over the years, including personal profiles, clothing achievements, artist reviews and classic clothing works; 9 sets of fashion artworks, focusing on the reconstruction and rebirth of discarded denim clothing, exhibited in the form of static models; The exhibition featured 6 large-scale installations, including the 10-meter-long red shark and whale “Ocean”, the “Masai Mara” with the scale of the real image, and the “Fashionable Terracotta Warriors” created by 68 half-length discarded models. This exhibition, which integrates art and environmental protection concepts, evokes ecological resonance in the name of art, and builds a dialogue bridge between industrial civilization and ecological protection through waste recycling creations and artistic reconstruction installations of denim clothing and fashionable consumer goods.

Cheng Zhou, director and researcher of Liuzhou Museum, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that this exhibition will allow the world to see and hear the voices and actions of our Chinese on environmental protection, wildlife protection and biodiversity protection.

Wu Hong, vice chairman of the China Fashion Designers Association, director of the Clothing and Apparel Committee of the China Culture and Art Promotion Association, and professor of Shenzhen University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony: “The meaning of art is to make thinking visible. Professor Liang Mingyu used his works to tell us that ecological protection is not a slogan, but a gentle responsibility of every life to the world. May this exhibition become a dialogue of the soul, so that we can more firmly protect the green waters and green mountains and build a home of life in the shock of beauty. ”

Professor Liang Mingyu said: “This exhibition is my anxiety, reflection and expression on the world’s biggest problem of ecological and environmental issues for more than ten years. ”

As a famous Chinese fashion designer and artist, Professor Liang Mingyu is well-known in the industry. She was a professor at Southwest University, the chairman of the Chongqing Fashion Designers Association, the chief expert of fashion design and engineering of the Chongqing Municipal Government, and won the Outstanding Women’s Innovation Achievement Award at the 69th United Nations Women’s Conference, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the first Wildlife Protection Heroes Association, the 2018 Fashion Beijing Fashion Art Lifetime Achievement Award, and served as the main designer of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008, and has made remarkable achievements in the field of art.

Professor Liang Mingyu has always been committed to conveying the concept of ecological and environmental protection through artworks, and her works have made China’s environmental protection voice heard at many international occasions such as Tate Modern in London, World Elephant Day, and the World Climate Conference in Egypt. Professor Liang uses the clothing art language system he has explored and constructed for many years to express concerns, call for action, and establish a consensus on low-carbon environmental protection and wildlife protection.

In addition, this exhibition also has cultural and creative booths to integrate the concept of environmental protection into daily necessities. The exhibition will continue to provide the public with an artistic feast that integrates visual impact and ecological reflection, and the event will end on October 25.
