Chongqing Industrial Design City-wide Industry-Education Consortium Conference Convenes, Pooling Efforts to Build a New High Ground for Industry-Education Integration

On January 23, the Chongqing Industrial Design City-wide Industry-Education Consortium Conference was grandly held at Chongqing Light Industry School. The conference further propelled the in-depth integration of industry and education in the field of industrial design, injecting strong momentum into the city’s “City of Design” initiative and the construction of its “33618” modern manufacturing cluster system. Luo Li, Party Leadership Group Member and Deputy Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology; Li Jinyu, Member of the Municipal Education Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Municipal Education Commission; and Lyu Jun, Deputy District Governor of Beibei District and Party Working Committee Secretary of the Economic Development Zone, attended the conference and delivered speeches. Representatives from over 100 member units, including government departments, industry associations, enterprises, and academic institutions, totaling more than 400 people, participated in the event.

The conference comprehensively summarized the phased achievements of the consortium and reviewed its work in 2025. Since its establishment in September 2024, the Chongqing Industrial Design City-wide Industry-Education Consortium has built upon its existing foundation to create a cross-regional industry-education integration platform together with industry organizations, enterprises, and institutions, making positive progress in resource aggregation and mechanism innovation. In talent cultivation, the consortium has pioneered an integrated “industry-university-research-competition-application” model, cumulatively winning over 10 international prestigious awards, including the German iF Design Award and Red Dot Design Award, as well as more than 30 provincial/ministerial-level awards in various industrial design competitions. In technical services, it has successfully established the Chongqing Industrial Design Industry Academy, initiated the construction of the Chongqing Industrial Design Product Trial-Production Public Service Center, and obtained approval for seven provincial/ministerial-level master studios, including the Chongqing Industrial Design Center, building a technical service system covering multiple fields such as design and R&D. In terms of results transformation, it has launched a series of products, such as Tan’s Craftsman wooden combs and Fairy Red tea, and completed representative projects like the “Bubble Panda” themed station on Chongqing Rail Transit Line 2.

市经济信息委党组成员、副主任罗莉在发言中指出，工业设计是产业创新的核心引擎，是连接技术与市场、功能与美学的关键纽带，人才是驱动产业发展支撑要素，也是设计创新的根基所在。深化产教融合，建立工业设计市域产教联合体，是破解设计人才供需错配、技术转化不畅的有效路径，也是聚合创新要素、深化“四链”融合、激活发展效能的“动力磁场”。罗莉强调，重庆作为西部首个“全球设计之都”，须加速工业设计对制造业赋能进程，要打破壁垒、汇聚资源，推动产教融合走深走实；要创新“订单式培养+项目式实战”模式，锻造复合型设计人才；要贯通“从课堂创意到市场爆品”的全链条，全面激活产教融合的“造血功能”，为打造国家级先进制造业集群贡献力量。

During the conference, an industrial design academic exchange event was also held. Industry experts from Chongqing University, Hunan University, Wuhan University, Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Yigu Zhilian Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. delivered keynote speeches, presenting a splendid intellectual feast.
