AITO Celebrates 1 Millionth Vehicle Produced in Chongqing, Leading China’s Automotive Breakthrough into Premium Segment

On January 13th, Chongqing, which is striving to build itself into a hub for intelligent connected new energy vehicles, celebrated another milestone. AITO, the premium smart vehicle brand under leading automaker Seres, officially entered the “Million Club,” setting a new benchmark for the high-quality development of Chinese automotive brands.

At the Seres Super Factory, under bright spotlights, a new AITO M9 slowly rolled off the production line. This marked the significant moment when the AITO brand celebrated the production of its 1 millionth vehicle, and a milestone for the successful implementation of the cross-border integration model in China’s automotive industry. Launched in 2021 as a collaborative cross-border brand between Seres and Huawei, AITO has captured market attention with multiple products demonstrating technological innovation, repeatedly breaking market records. Among them, the AITO M9 has consistently led the 500,000+ RMB price segment in sales for 21 consecutive months, while the AITO M8 has topped the 400,000+ RMB segment for 6 consecutive months.

Wang Zhijie, Party Secretary and Director of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, stated: “This is not only a breakthrough in scale but also an industry benchmark demonstrating the ‘accelerated’ high-quality development achieved through cross-border integration. Forward-looking national and local industrial planning, the continuous empowerment of supportive policies, and innovative practices in cross-border integration have propelled this Chongqing-based automaker forward. In 2025 alone, Seres delivered 420,000 vehicles, leading the domestic premium new energy vehicle market and becoming a symbolic force in the premiumization of Chinese automotive brands.

Zhang Xinghai, Chairman (Founder) of Seres Group, said: “It took us five years to achieve the first one million vehicles. Now, we plan to achieve the next one million within two years.
