The 2025 World Design Cities Conference (WDCC2025), hosted by the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government and co-hosted by UNESCO, is scheduled to be held in Shanghai from September 25 to September 28. The main venue is located at No. 689 Jumen Road, Huangpu District, and linkage activities will be held in various districts of the city and overseas.
2025 marks the 15th anniversary of Shanghai becoming the “City of Design” and the fourth consecutive year that Shanghai has hosted the World Design Cities Conference. With the theme of “Design Without Boundaries, Endless Life”, this conference will continue to practice the mission and vision of “building a global design innovation cooperation platform, exploring the path of design-driven new quality development, and promoting design everywhere in cities and lives”.
This year’s conference will feature a “12255+X” program structure:
● 1 opening ceremony
● 2 exhibition layouts (main venue and overseas)
● 2 thematic forums (International Design 100 Forum, Global Creative Cities Design Forum)
● 5 specialized forums across major design fields
● 5 industry ecosystem sessions
● X citywide and overseas parallel events
The conference will bring together distinguished guests, leading brands, and emerging design talents to establish itself as a benchmark for ecological design, a new model for fashionable living, and a source of industrial innovation. It aims to foster collaborative development with global Creative Cities.
