2025 UNESCO Creative Cities Street Design Challenge Opens for Registration | Focus on AI & Sustainable Mobility

The 2025 UNESCO Creative Cities Online Street Design Challenge is now open for registration!The Street Design Challenge is a two-day competition designed for college students to share their perspectives on how public space design can improve the quality of life in their communities.

According to reports, during the two-day schedule, the design will focus on artificial intelligence, mobile devices, vehicle electrification, robotics, biosensors and other propositions to help the community create solutions that accurately improve the lives of residents. During this period, the interdisciplinary team will collaborate under the guidance of mentors to design the latest solutions for exotic cities, empowering local residents to create new environmental experiences, service systems, and urban landscapes. According to the requirements of the competition, each team will be randomly matched with an overseas city street and created with a detailed briefing provided by local experts. The challenge begins, and the participating teams need to complete the design plan within 48 hours.

 

Project Timeline

May 28 | Call Opens at the Annual Cities of Design Meeting in Saint Ètienne.

August 13 | Q&A Street Profile Session (online)

September 5 | Deadline for Street Profile Submission

September 19 | Deadline for team submission

October 4~6 | Challenge days!
