Ranking among the Top Tier of National-Level New Areas

Liangjiang New Area is strategically located in the eastern and northern core of Chongqing’s central urban area, positioned at the intersection of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It lies along the main development axis linking the “dual cores” of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, serving as a key hub for the Western Land-Sea New Corridor and the core area of the China-Singapore Connectivity Demonstration Project. Its comprehensive transportation system forms an integrated “rail-highway-water-air” multimodal transport network, establishing highly efficient logistics channels connecting internal and external regions. It has successively received national-level designations, including the National Pilot Base for Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle Clusters, the Core Area of the National Digital Economy Innovation and Development Pilot Zone, and National-Level Green Industrial Park, as well as municipal-level titles such as Chongqing’s Advanced Manufacturing Agglomeration Zone and the core area of the Chongqing Free Trade Zone. In 2024, it ranked 4th in the comprehensive national assessment of national-level high-tech zones and economic development zones.

● Planning and Layout

The total planned industrial land area is 6,431 hectares, with 4,302 hectares already supplied.
– Yufu Park: Primarily hosts Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles, Next-Generation Electronic Information (Integrated Circuits, Smart Terminals), and High-End Equipment.
– Longxing Park: Focuses on Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicles, High-End Equipment, Aerospace, and Scientific Innovation industries.
– Shuitu Park: Specializes in Next-Generation Electronic Information (New Display Technologies, Integrated Circuits), Life Sciences, and Big Data industries.
– Bonded Port Area: Prioritizes the development of Smart Terminals, Bonded R&D, and the import/export of automobiles and parts.

● Infrastructure

Cumulatively, 38 million square meters of industrial buildings have been constructed (including 9.5 million square meters of standard factories), housing over 4,200 enterprises. Eight sewage treatment plants are operational with a total daily treatment capacity of 550,000 cubic meters, achieving a 100% industrial wastewater collection and treatment rate. Fifteen 110kV and above substations have been built to meet industrial electricity demands. The Bonded Port Area possesses 10 nationally designated ports, making it the only inland customs special supervision zone with dual “water port + air port” functionality.

● Supporting Resources

The public service system is well-developed.
– Education: It boasts 12 high-quality primary and secondary schools, including Chongqing No.8 Middle School Longxing Campus, Nankai Middle School Liangjiang Campus, and Renmin Primary School Liangjiang Campus, with additional support from institutions like Southwest University Liangjiang Experimental Middle School.
– Healthcare: Top-tier hospitals, such as Wuhan Union Hospital Chongqing Branch and Chongqing People’s Hospital Liangjiang Branch, have been established.
– Commerce: Commercial complexes like Longxing Tiandi and Shuitu Commercial Center are in operation, building a “15-minute convenient living circle.”
– Culture and Sports: Facilities include the 60,000-seat Longxing Football Stadium (capable of hosting international events) and the Shuitu Digital Culture Plaza.

A “Two Pillars, Multiple Supports” industrial structure has been established:

With Yufu and Longxing Parks as the core, significant focus is placed on developing the Intelligent Connected New Energy Vehicle industry, building the largest manufacturing base of its kind in western China. Centered around Shuitu Park and the Bonded Port Area, efforts are dedicated to fostering new generation electronic information manufacturing clusters, such as new display and smart terminal clusters. Supporting industries, including Aerospace, Life Sciences, and High-End Equipment, provide effective complementarity.

● Enterprise Cultivation

The area has gathered 329 industrial enterprises above the designated size, including 2 with output exceeding 100 billion yuan; 5 between 10-100 billion yuan; 4 between 5-10 billion yuan; 28 between 1-5 billion yuan; and 126 between 100 million – 1 billion yuan. There are 6 listed companies, among which are 38 national-level “Little Giant” specialized and sophisticated SMEs, 320 municipal-level specialized and sophisticated SMEs, 112 Gazelle enterprises, and 4 Unicorn enterprises.

● Platform Development

The density of innovation carriers ranks among the highest in western China. It includes 8 municipal-level manufacturing innovation centers; 11 national-level and 65 municipal-level enterprise technology centers, with over 500 innovation platforms at the municipal level or above. There are 4 pilot platforms designated for key cultivation by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and 10 municipal-level pilot platforms. The area possesses 2 national-level “Excellent” Intelligent Factories, 4 national-level 5G Factories, 32 municipal-level Intelligent Factories, and 125 municipal-level Digital Workshops. It is also home to 15 national-level and 72 municipal-level Green Factories, with Shuitu Park receiving the “National-Level Green Industrial Park” designation.
