Meanwhile, Chongqing has established mechanisms and systems for cultural and creative courses targeting different levels and groups, promoting the integration of design culture into the city. In preschool education, art games and activities suitable for children’s physical and mental development are conducted to sow the seeds of creative design. In primary schools, cultural heritage, art appreciation, and innovative abilities are cultivated through courses in music, fine arts, calligraphy, and other subjects, with no less than four class hours per week. At the junior high school level, diversified teaching methods and scenarios, such as “aesthetic classes + aesthetic activities in clubs + community art education,” are employed to develop students’ core abilities in “aesthetic foundation + artistic skills + design innovation,” with no less than two class hours per week in junior high and no less than three credits per semester in the senior high. At the university level, a teaching system composed of three-course clusters, namely “design foundation + design procedures and methods + specialized and practical design,” has been established in undergraduate and vocational colleges across the city, integrated into the talent cultivation programs and credit management, with no less than two credits per semester.
